Lloyd EcoDistrict is uniquely located among commercial hubs, leisure destinations, residential homes and public gathering spaces. Where diverse groups live, play and work, it can be challenging to understand how webcan become better connected to each other among visitors and newcomers alike. Together, neighborhood organizations, individuals and local businesses came together to envision a more prosperous and innovative Lloyd. As part of a two-part outreach initiative, we tackled equity, resilience and climate protection. How might we create a better future with these three big topics at the forefront? I developed a participatory tool that engaged nearly 100 unique participants to share their ideas and develop ways that transform these ideas into action. Table topics ranged from community space, super neighborhood emergency teams, innovative green space, youth engagement and futuristic free form. This work accelerated an Action Forum where participants closely connect to the projects they want to see in Lloyd.
